Borgvik - historically beautiful environment
This is a free sample of a VIP place.
Borgvik is a charming and historically rich ironworks town located on the Borgviksälven river in western Värmland. This picturesque village offers a unique insight into Sweden’s industrial heritage and is a perfect destination for both history enthusiasts and nature lovers.
During the 19th century, Borgvik was one of Värmland’s most important ironworks, equipped with hammers, saws and mills. The mill manor, which probably dates back to the early 18th century, still stands as a stately reminder of the time when the iron industry flourished here. Several of the preserved buildings are built of so-called sinnersten – a by-product of iron production – which gives the village its characteristic appearance and historic feel.
Also in the heart of the village is Kungskvarnen, a beautifully situated inn.
Motorhome parking spaces at the marina
For those traveling by motorhome, there are nice parking spaces at Borgvik's guest harbor, right by the water. During the summer, there is also a café adjacent to the harbor. An exciting new playground has just been built and work is underway on a new café.
